Lead Mechanic | Ponca City, OK

SUMMARY:

Performs all driving duties in a safe, effective, and efficient manner and in accordance with all regulatory and Sentinel procedures.  Provides direction to other drivers in accordance with supervisor's guidance.

primary responsibilities:

• Performs maintenance and repairs of engine systems including electrical, cooling and powertrain.

• Performs welding and cutting, skilled in use of proper equipment.

• Performs annual FHWA inspections and required repairs.

• Performs troubleshooting.

• Assigns work to shop mechanics; directs equipment flow through shop

• Evaluates eDVIRs and repairs

• Ensures appropriate communication from the shop floor to terminal management and drivers.

• Responsible for sending daily OOS report out daily in a timely manner.

• Directs the Operations of Both North and South shops for Sentinel and P-66 repairs.

• Works directly with P-66 Supervisors and planners for repair and maintenance scheduling.

• Manages maintenance and repairs on fire pond pumps.

• Codes and sends parts invoices to Concur through Sentinel for P-66.

• Enters charge codes for parts costs for P-66 through SAP for billing.

• Closes R/M work orders for P-66 through SAP.

• Completes monthly invoices to P-66 for repairs, parts costs, and labor hours.

• Position requires Lead Mechanic to work directly with P-66 Fleet Management to maintain all vehicles.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Technical School diploma or certification, a plus

• Commercial Driver's License, which is maintained with proper endorsements, preferred

• Five years working experience as diesel mechanic

• Three years' supervisory experience

• Excellent problem-solving skills with electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems

• Ability to work independently

• Ability and desire to learn TMT; previous TMT experience, preferred

• Excellent organizational and planning skills

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to communicate, read, and write in English
